This Refund and Cancellation Policy explains how cancellations, refunds, task disputes, payment holds, and provider payouts may be handled on TaskNearby. This policy should be read together with the Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, Community Guidelines, and Prohibited Services & Items Policy.
1. General Payment Structure
Customers may pay for tasks through the TaskNearby Platform using payment methods supported by TaskNearby and its payment processors. TaskNearby may collect platform fees, processing fees, cancellation fees, or other disclosed fees.
Providers may receive payouts through supported payout methods after a task is completed, subject to review, payment processor rules, fraud prevention, dispute handling, and applicable law.
2. Customer-Initiated Cancellations
If a Customer cancels before a Provider accepts the task, the Customer should generally receive a refund of the task payment, excluding any non-refundable processing fees if applicable.
If a Customer cancels after a Provider accepts the task but before work begins, TaskNearby may refund the Customer, pay a partial cancellation amount to the Provider, or apply a cancellation fee depending on the timing, task type, and circumstances.
If a Customer cancels after the Provider has started work, purchased materials, traveled to the location, or reserved time, TaskNearby may issue only a partial refund or no refund depending on the circumstances.
3. Provider-Initiated Cancellations
If a Provider cancels before completing a task, the Customer may receive a full or partial refund depending on whether any agreed work was completed or materials were provided.
Repeated Provider cancellations may result in account review, reduced visibility, restricted payouts, suspension, or termination.
4. No-Show or Failure to Complete
If a Provider does not appear, does not communicate, or does not complete the agreed task, the Customer may report the issue to TaskNearby. TaskNearby may issue a refund, partial refund, credit, payment hold, or other remedy at its discretion.
If a Customer is unavailable, provides incorrect information, prevents access, or fails to communicate after a Provider arrives or starts work, the Provider may still be eligible for partial or full payment.
5. Disputes and Review Process
Users should first attempt to resolve task issues through the Platform. If a dispute is reported, TaskNearby may request messages, photos, receipts, proof of arrival, proof of completion, task details, or other information.
TaskNearby may decide, in its discretion, to issue a refund, partial refund, credit, payout, partial payout, payment hold, or denial of refund based on available information.
6. Materials, Expenses, and Reimbursements
Users should agree in advance whether materials, supplies, parking, tolls, travel, or other expenses are included in the task price. Reimbursements should be handled through the Platform when supported.
TaskNearby is not responsible for undisclosed expenses, unauthorized purchases, or expenses that violate platform rules.
7. Prohibited or Unsafe Tasks
TaskNearby may cancel, refund, hold, delay, restrict, or deny payment for any task that appears to involve prohibited services, unsafe activity, fraud, harassment, payment rule violations, or illegal conduct.
Users may not receive payment for tasks that violate the Prohibited Services & Items Policy.
8. Chargebacks and Payment Reversals
If a Customer files a chargeback, bank dispute, or payment reversal, TaskNearby may restrict the Customer account, request additional information, hold funds, recover amounts from future payouts, or take other action allowed by law and payment processor rules.
Providers may be responsible for chargeback-related amounts if the dispute is related to task non-completion, fraud, misrepresentation, or violation of platform rules.
9. Payout Timing
Provider payouts may be delayed due to payment processor timing, bank processing, account review, identity verification, fraud prevention, disputes, refunds, chargebacks, legal requirements, or policy violations.
TaskNearby does not guarantee instant payouts unless expressly offered in writing.
10. Non-Refundable Fees
Certain fees, including payment processing fees, platform fees, cancellation fees, expedited payout fees, or other disclosed charges, may be non-refundable to the extent permitted by law.
11. Updates
TaskNearby may update this policy from time to time. Continued use of the Platform after updates means you accept the revised policy.

This Provider Terms Addendum applies to users who offer, accept, perform, or receive payment for services through TaskNearby. It supplements the Terms of Service and other TaskNearby policies.
1. Independent Provider Status
Providers are independent users and are not employees, agents, representatives, contractors, partners, joint venturers, or franchisees of TaskNearby. TaskNearby does not direct, control, supervise, or guarantee Provider work.
Providers are responsible for determining when, where, whether, and how to perform accepted tasks, subject to platform rules and applicable law.
2. Provider Eligibility and Information
Providers must be at least 18 years old and must provide accurate account, payment, tax, identity, and profile information as requested.
TaskNearby may require identity verification, tax forms, payout information, or additional information before allowing Provider payouts.
3. Skills, Tools, Licenses, and Insurance
Providers are responsible for ensuring they have the skills, experience, tools, equipment, transportation, authorization, licenses, permits, certifications, insurance, and legal ability required for any task they accept.
TaskNearby does not verify licenses, insurance, permits, certifications, or qualifications unless expressly stated in writing.
4. Task Performance Standards
Providers must communicate professionally, arrive or communicate as agreed, perform accepted tasks safely and lawfully, follow task instructions that are reasonable and lawful, and avoid prohibited or unsafe work.
Providers should decline or cancel tasks that appear illegal, unsafe, deceptive, prohibited, outside their ability, or outside their legal authorization.
5. Pricing, Fees, and Payouts
Providers are responsible for reviewing task price, scope, timing, and expenses before accepting a task. TaskNearby may deduct platform fees, processing fees, refunds, chargebacks, adjustments, tax withholding where applicable, or other authorized amounts from Provider payouts.
Payout timing depends on payment processor rules, bank processing, fraud prevention, identity verification, account review, disputes, chargebacks, refunds, and legal requirements.
6. Off-Platform Work and Payments
Providers may not use TaskNearby to identify Customers and then arrange payment, booking, or performance of the same or related task outside TaskNearby to avoid fees, safety tools, dispute processes, or platform rules.
7. Taxes
Providers are responsible for reporting and paying all taxes related to income earned through TaskNearby. TaskNearby does not provide tax advice.
TaskNearby or its payment processors may collect tax information or issue tax forms where required by law.
8. Safety and Property
Providers are responsible for their own safety, vehicle use, tools, equipment, property access, and conduct during tasks. Providers are responsible for damage, loss, injury, or misconduct caused by their actions to the extent permitted by law.
